Parts of Goa got some relief from the sweltering heat on Monday as the state witnessed rainfall at isolated places while the cloudy weather kept the sun at bay. Chicalim, Vasco, Solva Raia, Margao and parts of Panjim were among the places to receive rainfall.
The state was prepared for the rains as IMD issued a yellow alert for May 8 and 9. The IMD also predicted mild light to moderate rains and thundershowers at scattered places in Goa on May 9. At 8 pm, on Tuesday, isolated thunderstorm cells are over the talukas of Quepem & Salcette. Other talukas also are likely to get affected, as the clouds are moving generally towards the west.
