The lottery tickets of some of the Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav
Mandal of Goa are the most highly awaited. Two of these lottery tickets are for
Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal Quepem and Sangampur Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav
Mandal in Sanguem. The Quepem Mandal has offered a long list of 20 cars and
loads of cash along with the cars to be won. The Sanguem Mandal is offering a 2
BHK flat, a 10-wheeler multi-axle truck, and an excavator as prizes to be won by
the lucky lotteries.
People from across Goa made beelines at Quepem on Friday battling sun and rain as the sale of tickets went live on Saturday. The Quepem lottery has a luxury SUV and Rs 19 lakh in cash to be won followed by another luxury SUV with Rs 11 lakh in cash to be won. The first five lucky winners will get SUVs followed by luxury sedans and hatchbacks totaling to 20 four-wheeler vehicles as prizes and more than a crore in cash.
The Mandal had printed 1 lakh tickets in 2023 and sold them
for a cost of Rs 300. This time the ticket cost has gone up to Rs 500 and the
mandal has printed 1.5 lakh tickets that are up for grabs.
A kilometre-long queue was witnessed on Saturday of people
trying to get lucky with the lottery ticket. The police force was deployed at
Quepem after many cars and two-wheelers of people coming to buy the ticket
blocked roads. As the Mandal anticipated the rush they created arrangements for
people who came to buy the lotteries.
