PANJIM: In response to the Supreme Court's recent ruling on reservations, the SC/ST United Forum-Goa has called for a Bharat Bandh and a peaceful protest, on August 21st at Azad Maidan, Panjim.
The protest is against the August 1st Supreme Court judgement that permits the sub-classification of Scheduled Castes (SCs) within the quota system, excluding the creamy layer from SC/ST reservations.
The protest has garnered nationwide support from SC and ST communities, and the forum has urged the government to take immediate action on this issue.
