RAIA: Agxem Sports Club downed Pidadigal Sports Club 2-0 in the final to clinch the 7-a-side St Alex Parish Youth Curtorim Inter-Ward Football Trophy organised by St Alex Parish Youth, Curtorim, at St Alex Church ground, Curtorim, recently.
Both teams played an attacking football and got equal opportunity but Agxem SC scored two goals in the full session of play. Alroy Gomes scored in the first half, while Jovial Martin’s netted the second in the second half.
Chief guest Fr Victor Viegas gave away the prizes in the presence of Fr Manuel Dias, Fr Michael, Fr Santario, Rui Menezes and other dignitaries.
Earlier in the exhibition match, St Alex Higher Secondary, Curtorim, defeated Pope John XXIII High School, Quepem.
