MAPUSA: Albert Developers clinched a commanding 3-0 victory over Dempo Juniors in the GFA First Division League, at Duler stadium, on Wednesday.
Under coach Venancio Gonsalves, Albert Developers dominated early, with three strong goal attempts. In the 18th minute, a cross from Newton Azavedo was mishandled by U-21 Mohit Kankonkar, failing to find the net. Ranjit Tete’s header struck the crossbar, while Sandesh Kaulekar’s effort was parried away by Dempo keeper Harsha Vardhan.
The breakthrough came just before half-time when Ranjit Tete's low cross was expertly finished by Kankonkar. Dempo Juniors created chances after the break, but Albert Developers' goalkeeper Nihal Kunkalkar denied Yug Palyekar in a one-on-one situation, while Macan Pereira’s powerful strike went wide.
In stoppage time, substitute Aniston D’Silva sealed the victory with two goals, both assisted by Sandesh Kaulekar.
At Poriat ground, Chapora Yuvak Sangh secured a comfortable 3-0 win over Sao Jose de Areal SC. Rohan Pednekar netted a goal in each half, with Cain Fernandes adding the third.
