Ameya puts up good show at Cusat international chess

PANJIM: Young and dynamic Audi Ameya put up a fine performance in the just concluded 26th Cusat International Rating Chess Tournament 2015 held at Cochin, recently.
Ameya defeated Anthony MC and Ravindra (Kerala), Akash Shrivastav, Arunachal Pradesh and Rohit Vasan of (Tamil Nadu), and drew with Tarun V. Kanth and Phoolbalan (Tamil Nandu) and DhanShekar (Kerala) to tally five wins and three draws.
Ameya remained unbeaten throughout the event. Ameya was a contender for the Championship, which he missed on account of draw in the concluding round against Phoobalan (2205) of Tamil Nadu. 
He was joint third, but placed sixth on bucholz and was awarded the certificate of merit and a cash prize of Rs 7,000. In all, 257 players from across the country represented.
Ameya is the student of RMS College, Margao.
