MAPUSA: Hosts Assonora United FC registered a fluent 3-0 win over FC Tuem to move into the next round of Assonora United Super Soccer Cup played at Assonora ground, on Friday.
In a fast paced encounter, Assonora United opened their account from an own goal by Pratik Salgaonkar after he failed to control a measured cross from Kunal Salgaonkar. Both the teams tried hard to score a goal but somehow the goal eluded them. But somehow the FC Tuem defence could not stop Assonora United FC star striker Kunal who scored by running through the rival defence placing the ball to the right of the goalkeeper. In the added time, Kunal scored his brace with a powerful strike after receiving a through pass from an overlapping Sunny to make it 3-0 for Assonora United. Later, Kunal was declared the man-of-the-match for his splendid performance.
