Bardez Veterans Edge Past Nuvem Veterans 6-5 in Sudden Death Tie-Breaker at Panjim Veterans Tournament

PANJIM: Bardez Veterans downed Nuvem Veterans in sudden death 6-5 via tie-breaker to move ahead in the Panjim Veterans football tournament played at Taleigao ground.

Both the teams played goalless draw in the regulation time.

Nuvem Veterans dominated the first half with midfielders Jason Cardozo combining with well-supported by Jerose Oliver.

In the second half, Bardez Veterans testified their attack from the attacks of Andriano Fernandes and Trevor Mascarenhas.

In the tie-breaker, Benidict Fernandes, Gavin Araujo, Ambroz Fernandes, Govind Palekar, Narendra Gad and Vikrant Sharma scored for Bardez Veterans, while Agnelo Colaco, Jerose Oliver, Micheal Barreto, Domnic Furtado, Wilson Fernandes were on target for Nuvem Veterans.

Agnelo Colaco was awarded the man-of-the-match by chief guest Joe Fernandes (businessmen).

In the earlier match, a hat-trick by Francisco Andrade guided Fatorda Veterans to score a 5-0 win over Cunchelim Veterans, to move into the next round. Francisco Andrade opened the scoreline in the very 2nd minute, while Ricardo Carvalho doubled the lead.

In the second half, Francisco Andrade scored his hat-trick by netting the three goals in a quick session. Cirilo D’Souza of Cunchelim Veterans bagged the man-of-the-match award from Ajit Vegulekar (former Dempo SC player).
