PANJIM: Bardez Veterans shocked Vasco Veterans 2-0 to move into semi-finals of Panjim Veterans football tournament organised by Panjim Veterans at Taleigao ground, on Wednesday.
Both teams were locked goalless at the half time.
Atul Naik opened the scoreline for Bardez Veterans with a good pass by Pratap Gawas. Later, Vasco Veterans through Santan Furtado missed a chance to equalise.
Vasco Veterans lined up with Saluzinho Barreto in goal by defenders. Nelson Landez , Shaikh Niyazi, Fr Franky Fernandes, Ramesh Palkar were strong to lead the Bardez Veterans forward by Lawrence Quadroz and Benedic Fernandes. Govind Balekar increased the lead for Bardez Veterans in the dying minute of the game.
