
After quite a wait, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the annual central contracts for men’s players. This time, four players have been included in the A+ category, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, and Ravindra Jadeja.
Middle-order batter Shreyas Iyer, who performed really well in the Champions Trophy, has been awarded a central contract once again. Ishan Kishan, who consistently scored runs in the recent domestic tournament, has also been included. Last year, both Iyer and Kishan were excluded from the list due to their indifferent attitude towards domestic cricket. However, both players have now been reinstated.
Grade A+ (4 Athletes): Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja
Grade A (6 Athletes): Rishabh Pant, Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, KL Rahul, Shubman Gill and Hardik Pandya
Grade B (5 Athletes): Suryakumar Yadav, Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel, Shreyas Iyer and Yashasvi Jaiswal.
Grade C (19 Athletes): Rinku Singh, Tilak Verma, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shivam Dube, Ravi Bishnoi, Washington Sundar, Mukesh Kumar, Sanju Samson, Arshdeep Singh, Prasidh Krishna, Rajat Patidar, Dhruv Jurel, Sarafraz Khan, Nitish Reddy, Ishan Kishan, Abhishek Sharma, Akash Deep, Varun Chakaravarthy and Harshit Rana
