MAPUSA/RAIA: Benny XI Mapusa carried on their winning streak by drubbing Miracles SC 4-0 in the Goa Football Association (GFA) Division III League Bardez Zone match played at Moira ground, on Thursday.
Prasil Kankonkar and Clinton Barbosa both scored from the penalty spot in each session of play. Daued Maldar and Rahul Naik added their names to the scorers list for Benny XI.
At Nerul ground, Nerul SC downed Adarsh Yuvak Sangh, Saligao, by 2-0 margin. Sahil Parwar and Sahil Jalmi scored a goal each in the second session of play for Nerul SC.
At Vagator ground, Goa United Sports Academy outplayed Penha de France SC by 6-2 margin.
At Duler Stadium, Ucassaim SC downed St Sebastian SC, Mapusa, in a 3-2 thriller.
Raitura SC scrapped past Futebol Club YFA 3-2 at Rosary ground, Navelim.
Myron Pereira, Ozzie Dias and Edison James Dias scored for Raitura SC and for Futebol Club YFA, Shanon Furtado and Adlear Teles reduced the margin.
Meanwhile, GFA President Caetano Fernandes made his present felt for the Division III League match played at the Navelim ground.
Speaking post match, Fernandes informed that the responsibility of selecting players for the State team - particularly for the Santosh Trophy and other tournaments - has been entrusted to Joaquim Crasto, Sevirino Fernandes, and Lavino Pereira.
