RAIA: Bhatti SC booked their place in the final of the Silver Jubilee Cup 2025 inter-ward football tournament after a tense 4-2 tie-breaker victory over SC Virabhat, at the St Alex Church ground, Curtorim. The tournament is organised by Sporting Club Virabhat.
SC Virabhat came close to scoring early on when Floydon Fernandes’ powerful strike struck the crossbar and went out of play. Bhatti SC created several chances, but Virabhat’s solid defence kept them at bay.
In the second half, Bhatti missed another opportunity when Ralf Dias’ shot hit the post and rolled out. With the match ending goalless in regulation time, the outcome was decided by penalties.
In the shootout, Bhatti SC triumphed 4-2, with Macroy, Tony, Ralf and Aaron converting their chances. For SC Virabhat, Lourdes and Floydon were the scorers.
Bhatti SC will now face Agxem SC in the final on June 22.
Perry Dias of Bhatti SC was named man-of-the-match and received the award from Mowin Noronha, a member of SC Virabhat.
