MAPUSA: Calangute Association downed Arpora Sporting Club with a 3-0 win to move into the quarter-finals of 1st Vedanta Trophy organised by Sinquerim Sports Club at Sinquerim Sports Club ground, on Monday.
Both the teams were locked goalless at half time.
Calangute Association surged ahead through Joshua D’Souza in the 50th minute of play. Pedro Gonsalves doubled the lead for Calangute Association in the 53rd minute of play. Waldron Martins scored an unfortunate own goal to complete the rout in the 56th minute of play.
Pallav Murari, Saish Palyekar and Sankesh Harmalkar were shown card by the match referee.
