RAIA: Calangute Veterans stormed into the final of Seraulim Veterans Cup football tournament defeating USC Seraulim Veterans 6-5 via tie-breaker after both teams failed to score during the regular time.
The tournament organised by United Sports Club of Seraulim saw a lot of action in the semi-final with both teams going on for the attack right from the word go. The heavy rains did not allow both teams to give their best as they normally did on their previous matches.
At full, the score was 0-0.
In the resultant tie-breaker, Calangute proved to be the better shooters scoring through Vijay Parsekar, Bruno Coutinho, Paresh Kurgunkar, Prashant Matkar, Allwyn Fernandes and Sameer Chodankar. For USC Seraulim Veterans, Sohan D’Costa, Kennedy Noronha, Sandip Shanke, Vinod Naik and Jess Cardozo were on target.
