SANTA CRUZ: Verna Veterans stamped their class as they effortlessly saw off Nuvem Veterans 3-0 to book a place in the final of the Santa Cruz Village Panchayat Veterans Cup football tournament, held at the Santa Cruz ground on Tuesday.
Verna Veterans enjoyed a comfortable 2-0 lead at the interval.
Francis Caledo was the standout performer for Verna Veterans, scoring once in each half, while Raymond D’Souza also found the back of the net.
Verna now await the winners of the second semi-final, to be contested between Ilhas Veterans and Calangute Veterans.
