Xetrapal SC Enter Peddem Bomm Cup Final With 2-0 Win Over Holiday Club

MAPUSA/RAIA: Xetrapal SC, Oxel, marched into the final of Peddem Bomm Cup 2025 organised by Peddem Bomm SC with a resounding 2-0 victory over Holiday Club, Arpora, in the semi-final match played at Peddem Bomm ground, Anjuna, on Thursday.

Xetrapal SC had an early chance to forge ahead but Dishank Dhargalkar’s try missed the post by a whisker off a well-taken cross by Kanaya.

At the other end, Shubam Malvankar weaved his way through the Xetrapal SC defence only to see his well-taken shot superbly saved by the goalkeeper. Xetrapal SC kept up the pressure and Kanaya missed to connect after a well-taken cross by Dishank.

In the 25th minute, Chandrakant Shirodkar gave the lead to Xetrapal SC with a beautiful shot which landed straight into the goal. Immediately Chandrakant doubled the lead beating the Holiday Club defence and coolly slotting the ball into the net to complete his brace. The man-of-the-match was awarded to Chandrakant Shirodkar.

Rebello Pandal, Maina, came from behind to move past Chandrawaddo Boys, Fatorda, 3-2 to enter into the quarter-finals of 5th All Goa 8-a-side inter- village football tournament organised by Davorlim Sports and Cultural Club, at Laymati ground, Davorlim, on Thursday.

Chandrawaddo Boys started the match on a fast track and scored two quick goals in 7th and 10th minute through the efforts of Clencio Pinto and Franson and remained 2-0 ahead at half time.

In the second session, Rebello Pandal entered the field and took control of the game and scored through the boots of Joywin Carneiro and Nickson Castanah in 30th and 45th minute to level score 2-2.

In the dying minutes, Joywin netted his second goal with neat placement, which turned out to be the match winning goal.

Cumborda SC

move ahead

Cumborda Sports Club downed Paldem Sports Club 2-0 to move into the next round of Fondegal Youth Club 9-a-side inter-ward football tournament played at St Alex Church ground, Curtorim, on Thursday.

Both teams started the match in an attacking mode, Mackson of Cumborda SC with his powerful shot scored in the 10th minute to take lead. Later, Paldem SC tried many shots but were off the targets.

Both teams tried scoring with their tactics but the first half ended in a score with 1 - 0 Cumborda leading the game

Later in the 45 min Cumbord Sporting Club with their brilliant passing made through ball to Blason and he netted the ball in the bottom corner to make the double lead for them

Candolim SC defeated St Anthony’s SC, Marna-Siloim, 2-1, to enter into the quarter-finals of Nerul Cup inter-village football tournament played at Nerul ground, on Thursday.

Royce Gonsalves scored a brace, while Sudin Shirodkar reduced the margin for St Anthony’s SC.

Soccer: Navelim SC

Navelim Sporting Club downed Sporting Club Davorlim 4-1 via tie-breaker to move ahead in the St Rock’s Super Soccer inter-village football tournament played at Majorda ground, on Thursday.

After a barren full session, Navelim Sporting Club proved to be the better shooters in the penalty shoot-out.
