RAIA: Cuncolim Union advanced to the quarter-finals of the Cavelossim Villagers UK Cup inter-village football tournament with a convincing 2-0 victory over Curtorim Gymkhana, at the Fr Druston & Wellington ground, Cavelossim, on Wednesday.
Goals from Melwin Mascarenhas and Wilson Fernandes secured the win for Cuncolim Union.
Vinod Velip of Cuncolim Union was named the man-of-the-match with the award presented by Fr Ubaldo Fernandes, Parish Priest of Cavelossim Parish, in the presence of Viriato Mendes, vice-chairman of the club.
