RAIA: Curtorim Gymkhana scored a comfortable 3-1 victory over Carmona Sports Club to enter into the quarter-finals of All Goa United Trophy inter-village football tournament organised by United Club of Telaulim, at the Rosary Church ground, Navelim, on Thursday
Aliston Fernandes opened the scoreline for Curtorim Gymkhana but their joy short-listed as Edwil Afonso equalised for Carmona SC and both teams remained 1-1 draw at half time. Changing over, Curtorim Gymkhana scored two goals through Anslem Fernandes in 49th and 53rd minute.
Earlier, in the inaugural match, Cuncolim Union edged out St Sebastian Youth Club, Murida, 6-5 via tie-breaker to enter into the quarter-finals. Both teams failed to break the deadlock till the final whistle and remained 0-0 draw.
In the resultant tie-breaker, Cuncolim Union netted through Wilson Fernandes, Frazer Fernandes, Jollyton Fernandes, Viraj Velip, Shanker and Meliesh Pereira while for St Sebastian YC, Roque Borges, Mario Noronha, Velito Miranda and Edgar Noronha were on target.
Jollyton Fernandes of Cuncolim Union was awarded the man-of-the-match by Nazareth Colaco, former player of Davorlim SC.
