RAIA: Curtorim Gymkhana moved into the quarter-finals of Curtorim Villagers Cup 2025 defeating Cuncilim Union via tie-breaker 5-3 in the match organied by Curtorim Gymkhana at St Alex Church ground, Curtorim, on Monday.
Curtorim Gymkhana had their first chance to score when Joy Hilario shot was well saved by Cuncolim Gymkhana goalkeeper Sachin Velip. Cuncolim Union scored the first goal through Viraj Velip in the 26th minute to make 1-0 in first half.
In second half, Curtorim Gymkhana equalised through Anslem Fernandes in the 40th minute receiving a pass from Savio Peixoto. Both the teams created chances to score but the strikers failed to score.
At the end of regulation time, both teams settled for 1-1. In the resultant tie-breaker, Curtorim Gymkhana won 4-2, with Fredy Hilario, Versly Paes, James Fernandes and Jovel Martin scoring. For Cuncolim Union, Jollyton Fernandes and Wilson Fernandes were on target.
