PANJIM: Dnyanprassarak Mandal’s College and Research Centre, Assagao, pipped PES’ Ravi S Naik College of Arts and Science, Farmagudi, to move into the next round of Goa University’s Inter-Collegiate Women’s Football Championship played at Goa University ground, Taleigao Plateau, on Tuesday.
The all-important goal was scored by Pooja Nishad in the 27th Minute of the match.
In the second match, Sant Sohirobanath Ambiye Government College of Arts and Commerce, Pernem, edged past Padre Conceicao College of Engineering, Verna, vie a tie-breaker 2-1. The goals were scored by Sanjana Naik and Samartha Shirodkar in a tie-breaker.
In the third match Don Bosco College of Engineering, Fatorda, Margao defeated ParvatibaiChowgule College of Arts and Science, Margao, vie a tie-breaker 2-0, as the full-time score was 1-1, scored by Sania Cardozo of DBC Engineering in 12th minute and Criffa Pereira of Parvatibai Chowgule College in 25th minute.
In the tie-breaker, goals were scored by Raynel Dias and Sania Cardozo.
At Rosary Church ground, Navelim, St Xavier’s College, Mapusa, was awarded a walkover against Ganpat Parsekar College, Harmal.
Cuncolim Educational Society’s College of Arts and Commerce, Cuncolim, defeated VM Salgaocar Institute of International Hospitality Management, Manora-Raia 3-0.
The first goal was scored by Gauri Naik in the 3rd minute of the match, second and the third goal was scored by Babita Velip in the 37th and 45thminute.
Fr Agnel College of Arts and Commerce, Pilar, thrashed Agnel Institute of Technology, Assagao, 8-0.
Flancy Carvalho scored three goals in the 3rd, 6th and 20th minute. Latisha Menezes scored two goals in the 30th and 55th minute. Shalomi Parab, Amisha Mashelkar and Sania Lucas scored one goal each in the 25th, 40th and 49th minute respectively.
