Double delight for Anjali as inter-ITI sports meet commences

PANJIM: The XVth all-Goa inter-ITI sports competition got off to a rousing start, on Monday with Sports Minister Ramesh Tawadkar inaugurating the event, at SAG ground, Fatorda.

In the first cricket match ITI Canacona defeated ITI Vasco by eight wickets. Brief scores: ITI Vasco 60 all out in 10 overs. Rafiq 15 runs, Chetan 3/7, Hrishikesh 2/10, Parshuram 2/5 lost to ITI Canacona 61/2 in 6.2 overs. Kiran 22, Dharmesh 17 and Hrishikesh 17.
In the second match, ITI Margao defeated ITC Sesa Panchawadi by 28 runs. ITI Margao 89/7 in 10 overs. Umesh Chari 15, Gauresh 11, Rishab 14. Rupesh 3/13 beat ITC Sesa Panchawadi 61 all out. Swapnish – 29, Varath – 2/23, Shubam – 2/10 
ITI Cacora defeated ITC Fr Agnel by 75 runs. ITI Cacora 100/7 in 10 overs. Akshay Gaunkar 40, Vivesh Gaonkar 20 not out. Maxwell 2/18, Andry 2/11 beat ITC Fr Agnel 25 all out in 7.1 overs. Nagraj 8. Rajbaksh Nadaf 3/1 and Sachin 2/4.
ITI Margao were the winners in the relay final while the runner-up title was grabbed by ITI Sesa Sanquelim. In the shot put final, Anjali Pires of ITI Cacora clinched the title while the runner-up was Riya Colaco of ITI Margao. 
The discuss throw final was won by Anjali Pires of ITI, Cacora while the runner-up was Eshwari Gaonkar of ITI, Mapusa.
Kapil Aigal, Principal ITI Vasco and Co-ordinator (South), Sports committee welcomed the guests.
Akanksha Rane and Dixon D’Costa compered. Marino D’Souza, Principal Bicholim ITI / Co-ordinator (North), Sports Committee, proposed the vote of thanks.
