PONDA: Dr K B Hedgewar High School, Ponda, won the Ponda Taluka Level Team Chess Championship for invited schools organised by the Kamakshi Education Society’s Higher Secondary School in collaboration with Ponda Taluka Chess Association (PTCA).

Nine schools participated in the tournament. Anand Kurtikar was the chief arbiter of the tournament and he was assisted by Milind Gaude.

Vidya Vruddhi High School secured the second place and Swastik Vidyalay, Priol, secured the third place.

Certificates and trophies were distributed by chief guest Vishwanath Dalvi, Amogh Namshiker (secretary, PTCA), Surekha Naik (principal, Kamakshi Education Society’s Higher Secondary School ), Shraddha Naik (Kamakshi Education Society’s Higher Secondary School member), Shravan Naik (social worker), Anil Raut (tournament co-ordinator), Sandesh Naik (treasurer, PTCA) and Physical Education Teacher Luis Vaz.

Ranjana Naik compered and Vanita Naik proposed a vote of thanks.
