RAIA: In the final pre-quarterfinal clash of the 18th Rebello Pandal football tournament, Dragon Boys, Borda, staged a thrilling comeback to defeat Fatima Boys, Baida-Chinchinim 5-4 and secure a spot in the quarterfinals, played at St Rita Church ground, Maina-Curtorim, on Tuesday.
Fatima Boys took an early lead with Deral Rebello netting a brace in the 5th and 10th minutes. Sherino Gomes and Om Raikar added to the tally with goals in the 20th and 48th minutes, respectively.
However, Dragon Boys fought back with determination. Ranzil and Myron each scored a brace, finding the net in the 15th, 25th, 40th, and 45th minutes.
The decisive moment came in injury time, when Shubert struck in the 60+2 minute, delivering the match-winning goal for Dragon Boys.
Lewiston Rebello of Fatima Boys was adjudged man-of-the-match and received the award from Caitano Rebello.
