PANJIM: Goa emerged runners-up after losing to Bihar in the final of All-India T10 Tennis Ball Cricket Tournament for U-19 boys and girls organised by the T10 Tennis Ball Cricket Association of India, at Kullu, Himachal Pradesh, recently.

The Goa team’s performance was outstanding throughout the tournament. In the final, Bihar won the toss and elected to bat, Bihar scored 162/6 in 10 overs. Tushar Naik - 2 overs, 24 runs, 1 wicket; Afan Shaikh - 2 overs, 31 runs, 2 wickets; Saiesh Kerkar 2 overs, 35 runs, 1 wicket. In reply, Goa scored 41/10 for 6.3 overs. Malikaarjun 11 runs, Sangam 10 and Raj Naik 7, who scored the highest.

Tushar Naik was declared as the best bowler of the tournament, while Vrushabh Gaonkar was awarded the man-of-the-match. The team was guided by coaches Chandan Dongrekar and Ramdas Varak and managed by Pranay Gavkar. Altogether, 19 teams participated in the boys category, while 11 teams took part in the girls category. Goa T10 Tennis Ball Cricket Association President Dayesh Vengurlekar congratulated the team and wished them luck for future endeavours.
