
PANJIM: The Goa Football Association (GFA), in collaboration with Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam Social Welfare Trust, Maitreya Organisation and IAES Auto Expert Solution, will organise Goa Monsoon Football Premier League (GMFPL) 2025, at Duler Stadium, Mapusa, from July 16 to 20. The tournament will feature 16 GFA-affiliated under-20 teams competing in a fast-paced six-a-side knockout format, following international rules. “This is more than just football,” said GFA President Dr Caitano Fernandes. “Goa is not just a beach destination. Through GMFPL, we aim to showcase it as a cultural and sports hub, especially during the monsoon season.” Winners: Rs 1 lakh + trophy + medals; Runners-up: Rs 50,000 + trophy + medals; Third place: Rs 25,000 + trophy + medals and fourth place: Rs 10,000 + trophy + medals. Entry is free and only GFA-affiliated teams are eligible to compete.
