PANJIM: Goa Police moved into the semi-final of Panjim Veterans Soccer football tournament defeating Varca Veterans via tie-breaker 3-2 in the quarter-final match played at Taleigao ground, on Tuesday.
Both the teams were goalless draw at the full time. Goa Police Veterans created two promising opportunities through kishor Palkar, former Salgaocar SC player and Anthony Fernandes but goalkeeper Manoj Kesarkar of Varca Veterans saved beautifully.
In the second half, Rajan Pednekar of Goa Police moved into the scoring area but his long try was saved by outstanding keeper Manoj. In the tie-breaker, Rohidas Mhaloji, Anthony Fernandes, Kishor Palkar scored for Goa Police Veterans and Luis Menino, Rommel D’Souza scored for Varca Veterans.
