DUBAI/MARGAO: Ten-year-old Troy Jose Dias, originally from Margao and currently residing in Dubai, made an impressive debut on the international cricket stage, representing the UAE-based U-11 Cheetahs team of the Desert Cubs Cricket Academy.

Troy played a key role in guiding his team to a third-place finish at the GCCA iT20 Championship, held across Sri Lanka. The tournament featured promising young cricketers from across the region and served as a platform to showcase some of the best junior talent in the sport.

Troy’s standout performance came in a crucial group stage match against a strong Sri Lankan local side, where he displayed both composure and skill. He claimed two wickets in just two overs, drawing high praise from his head coach Presley Polonnowita for his impact and maturity on the field.

“Troy’s performance was commendable. He showed great awareness and confidence in a high-pressure match,” said coach.
