PANJIM: Arjuna Awardee and International Master (IM) Bhakti Kulkarni of Goa has brought pride to India by securing the first prize at the Olomouc Summer International Chess Festival Tournament held in the Czech Republic, recently.
Adding yet another feather to her illustrious career, Bhakti triumphed over strong international competition with Candidate Master Daniel Ser of Lithuania and Erwan Lever of France finishing second and third respectively.
Her father and first coach Pradip Kulkarni expressed immense joy at her victory, calling it a proud moment for both their family and the State of Goa.
Officials of the Goa Chess Association extended their heartfelt congratulations to Bhakti for her remarkable achievement, praising her consistent dedication and contribution to Indian chess. With this win, Bhakti continues to inspire young chess players across the nation and strengthens India’s standing in the global chess arena.
