RAIA: Guardian Angel SC edged past United Club of Verna 4-3 via tie-breaker to move into the quarter-finals of 43rd Gold Silver Rolling Trophy organised by Navelim Sporting Club, at Rosary ground, Navelim, on Saturday.
Clive Fernandes of United Club of Verna missed a chance to score in the very 4th minute. Then Godwin Fernandes of Guardian Angel SC’s shot missed the target by whiskers in the 6th minute. After that a foxy move by Hilton Fernandes of United Club of Verna was divengly saved by Guardian Angel SC goalkeeper in the 10th minute.
It was Clifton of United Club of Verna, who netted the first goal of the match, in the 41st minute but the joy was short-lived as Godwin equalised for Guardian Angel SC in the 52nd minute.
In the resultant tie-breaker, Guardian Angel SC proved to be better shooters.
