RAIA: Guirdolim Club edged past Parish Youth Nuvem 8-7 via tie-breaker to move into the next round after an intense 3-3 draw in regulation time of the Anil Kamat memorial football tournament organised by Enfermos Sports Club at the Our Lady of Hope Church ground, Chinchinim, on Thursday.
The match exploded into life early, with Moies D’Sa giving Girdolim the lead in the very 4th minute through a stunning free-kick. Parish Youth Nuvem nearly equalised in the 8th minute, but Meislen Barreto’s effort went just wide. They didn’t have to wait long, however, as Jonas Colaco levelled the score in the 9th minute with a composed finish.
The first half saw relentless action at both ends. Girdolim Club’s Severas D’Costa unleashed a powerful shot in the 17th minute, only to be denied by a brilliant save. In the 38th minute, Ashwell Plexoto restored Guirdolim Club’s lead 2-1 with a splendid strike.
Parish Youth Nuvem immediately hit back again through Meslin Bartetto to level terms2-2.

In the resultant tie-breaker, Girdolim Club kept their nerves and converted all five penalties through Mario Fernandes, Joaquim Carvalho, Ashwell Plexoto, Akran Yadwad, and Moies D’sa. For Parish Youth Nuvem, Alvito Dias, Jonas Colaco and Shenoy Colaco were on target, but it wasn’t enough to secure the win.
