RAIA: Our Lady of Gloria Sports Club, Rachol, pipped St Sebastian Bachbhat 1-0 to emerge champions in the Our Lady of Gloria 42nd inter-ward football tournament organised by Our Lady of Gloria Sports Club, Ilha-de-Rachol, on the occasion of Our Lady of Gloria feast day, at Rachol ground, on Sunday. The all-important goal came from the boots of Silvano with a 30-yard power-packed shot.
Chief guest former chief minister of Goa and former South Goa member of parliament Francisco Sardinha gave away the prizes in the presence of guests of honour Rachol Sarpanch Joseph Vaz, Roque Mascarenhas, presided over by Rachol Parish Priest Fr Anthony Rodrigues, special guests Fr Jovial Fernandes, Cosme Oliver, Goa Football Association’s Senior Vice-President Anthony Pango, Francisco Xavier Cardozo, former Raia sarpanch Luis Quadros, other dignitaries and club officials.
