IM Ameya crowned Little England Int’l Fide Rating Chess champion

PANJIM:  International Master Audi Ameya added another feather to his cap by winning the podium finish in the Little England 1st International Fide Rating Open Chess Tournament, 2021, which concluded at Hosur, on Wednesday. 

The tournament was organised by the Viyugam Chess Academy and Ananthi Chess Academy at the Adhiyamaan College of Engineering, Hosur in Tamil Nadu.

Ameya was the first seed of the tournament and managed to fight well and maintain his position. Ameya was in the lead with a full point ahead of other players as he went on to become the champion. Ameya had 8 wins and a draw to tally 8.5 out of possible 9 rounds. 

His notable wins were against FM Vinoth Kumar M, CM Lakshmi Narayanan M V and  Manigandan S S and  draw against IM Ramnath Balasubramanian of Tamil nadu. A total of 256 players participated in the tournament.
