The Indian men’s cricket team is set to kick off its Asia Cup 2025 campaign against hosts UAE on Wednesday, aiming to maintain its dominance in the continent. All matches will be available for live streaming and telecast across India.

The 17th edition of the Asia Cup, first held in 1983 as an ODI event, returns to the T20 format this year as preparation for the T20 World Cup 2026. India enter as defending champions and the tournament’s most successful team with eight titles. Sri Lanka has won six times, while Pakistan has claimed the trophy twice.

India’s headline group-stage encounter against arch-rivals Pakistan is scheduled for September 14. If both sides advance, the rivalry may continue into the Super 4s and potentially the final on September 28.

Suryakumar Yadav leads a 15-member Indian squad, with Shubman Gill as vice-captain. The team features rising stars Abhishek Sharma and Tilak Varma, IPL standouts Rinku Singh and Jitesh Sharma, and a strong bowling lineup including Jasprit Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh.

Eight teams are split into two groups of four, with the top two from each advancing to the Super 4 stage. Group A consists of India, Pakistan, UAE, and Oman, while Group B features Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Hong Kong China.
