
India’s hockey team dominated world No.87 Kazakhstan 15-0 at the Bihar Sports University Hockey Stadium on Monday, finishing top of Pool A in the Asia Cup. The Harmanpreet Singh-led side scored freely, with Abhishek netting four goals, Sukhjeet Singh and Jugraj Singh achieving hat-tricks, while captain Harmanpreet and Rajinder Singh also scored.
Coach Craig Fulton praised the team for maintaining tempo without risking injuries. India had already qualified for the Super 4s after a 3-2 win over Japan and will now face defending champions South Korea on Wednesday.
Pool B qualifiers: Malaysia (9 points) and South Korea (6 points). Kazakhstan and Japan will play in 5-8 position playoffs.
