 a 9-a-side inter-school football tournament, organised by Mount Mary’s Educational Complex, Chinchinim,  at Our lady of Hope Church ground Chinchinim, on Friday.
The teams played out a goalless draw in the regulation time.
Velton Fernandes who claimed best player of the match award for Rosary missed three glorious sitters in the 6th, 10th and 15th minutes.
Infant Jesus’ Raheen Khan’s found Eltroy D’Silva in the box but the latter’s shot was saved by Rosary goalkeeper Melroy Pexiote in the 21st minute.
Infant Jesus’ Gurudas Chavan’s half volley was fisted away by the rival goalkeeper in the 38th minute.
In the resultant tie-breaker, Infant Jesus high school proved to be better shooters.
In another match Mount Mary’s HS Chichinim defeated Holy Spirit Institute Old Market Margao 3-1 to move into the quarter-final.
Mount Mary took the lead in the 5th minute when Denson Fernandes’ free-kick beat the rival wall and the keeper.
Preston Fernandes doubled the lead in the 20th minute and Akshay Konkre made it 3-0 for Mount Mary in the 36th minute.
Harsh Patre pulled a goal back for Holy Spirit Institute in the 26th minute.
