IPL 2025 in England? ECB offers to host remaining matches amid Indo-Pak tensions

Amid escalating tensions and a war-like situation with Pakistan, the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 has been suspended for a week. The BCCI has announced that the 18th season of the league is being paused temporarily and the situation will be reviewed after a week. The Indian Armed Forces continue to thwart every hostile attempt by the enemy during this critical period.

Following India's airstrike on terror camps in Rawalpindi, the Pakistan Super League (PSL) has been cancelled. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) initially considered shifting PSL 2025 to the UAE, but the Emirates declined, forcing the board to cancel the tournament entirely.

After the suspension of IPL 2025 in India, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has offered to host the remaining matches in England.

ECB Chief Executive Richard Gould stated that the board is ready to help the BCCI by hosting the remainder of the IPL if discussions take place.

Meanwhile, former England captain Michael Vaughan has also advised the BCCI to consider completing the tournament in the UK. Notably, India is also scheduled to tour England next month for a five-match Test series, which may influence BCCI’s decision to consider ECB’s proposal.
