Nothing is going right for Lucknow Super Giants and their captain Rishabh Pant, who continues to disappoint with the bat. His form in IPL 2025 has been on a steady decline. In their recent clash against Punjab Kings, LSG suffered a 37-run defeat, further denting their chances of qualifying for the playoffs.
Chasing a mammoth 237-run target set by Punjab, Pant once again failed to deliver. Batting at No. 4, the LSG skipper managed just 18 runs off 17 balls before getting out. His dismissal triggered a strong reaction from LSG owner Sanjiv Goenka, who couldn’t hide his disappointment. A photo of his reaction has since gone viral on social media.
Pant was acquired for a staggering 27 crore in the IPL 2025 auction by Lucknow, but he has not lived up to expectations. So far in the tournament, he has scored only 128 runs from 11 matches, averaging just 12 with a strike rate of 99. His tally includes just one half-century.
Pant’s dismissal against Punjab Kings became a major talking point. In the 8th over of the innings, he attempted to loft a short-of-length delivery from Afghanistan pacer Azmatullah Omarzai over the boundary but ended up losing control of both his bat and his wicket. Shashank Singh completed the catch comfortably.
Goenka’s stunned expression after Pant's dismissal clearly showed his frustration, though he tried to remain composed. His reaction instantly became the talk of the town and is still setting social media on fire, with users widely sharing and commenting on the viral image. Take a look at all the reactions.
