PANJIM: Ishaan Colaso and Ashank Dalvi will renew their rivalry in the U-11 boys singles final at the All Goa Major Ranking Table Tennis Tournament organised by Ponda Table Tennis Sports Club under the aegis of Goa Table Tennis Association, at Sports Complex, Ponda, on Friday.
Top seed Ishaan defeated Kavin Hasija 3-0 in the quarter-finals and overcame Aarish Shaikh with an identical scoreline in the semi-final.
Ashank continued his impressive form, downing Kabir Dixit 3-0 in the quarter-final and outplaying Shreysht Rane 3-0 in the semi-final. Earlier, Aarish had stunned third seed Kedar Nair 3-0, while Shreysht edged out Vivaan Sasmal in a thrilling 3-2 battle.
Meanwhile, the U-13 girls category witnessed major upsets as unseeded players Tisha Shaikh and Sachi Desai stormed into the final. Tisha defeated Gianna George 3-2 in the quarter-final before ousting top seed Aayushi Amonkar in a nail-biting 3-2 semi-final.
Sachi outplayed Inara D’Souza 3-0 in the quarter-final and shocked second seed Aarna Lotlikar 3-2 in the semi-final.
In other quarter-finals, Aayushi had scraped past Kavyaa Khalap 3-2 and Aarna overcame Samaira Verlekar in a tight 3-2 finish.
