MIRAMAR: Ishita Colaso and Aaron Farias stole the show at the Priority Gaspar Dias Open All-Goa Major Ranking Table Tennis Tournament 2025 held under the aegis of the Goa Table Tennis Association (GTTA) at the Clube Tennis de Gaspar Dias, here, recently.
Ishita emerged as the star of the championship, completing a rare triple crown with wins in the U-15, U-19 girls and women’s singles, while Aaron dazzled with a double crown, claiming the U-19 boys and men’s singles titles.
The finals witnessed intense battles across categories. In the U-11 section, Ishaan Colaso outplayed Ashank Dalvi 3-1, while Anaya Shukla blanked Aarna Walavalkar 3-0.
Ruhaan Shaikh edged past Yug Prabhu 3-2 in a thrilling U-13 boys final, as Aarna Lotlikar battled hard to down Sachi Dessai 3-2 in the U-13 girls.
Chandan Caro was crowned U-15 boys champion with a 3-1 victory over Ruhaan, but later fell short in the U-19 boys summit clash, where Aaron prevailed 3-2.
In the senior categories, Ishita overcame Urvi Surlakar 3-1 for the women’s title, while Aaron held his nerve in a pulsating 4-3 win against Dheeraj Rai in the men’s final.
The veterans titles went to Sandeep D’Mello (40+), Kalyanaraman B (50+), and Joseph Sequeira (60+) with Jesus D'Costa (40+), Ratnadeep Shivani (50+) and Dinesh Shetty (60+) emerging runners-up.
The finals were graced by Managing Director, Priority Constructions, Parind Nachinolkar; GTTA Secretary Christopher Menezes, Centenary Celebrations Chairman Sanjeev Sardessai, Clube Tennis de Gaspar Dias Secretary Tanmay Kholkar and GTTA Vice-President Edwin Menezes and other dignitaries.
