MAPUSA: Assnora United FC drubbed St Sebastian SC, Mapusa, by 6-1 margin to advance into the final of 3rd Rosary Cup Mandrem Soccer tournament organised by Dunes Sports Club, Mandrem, at the Mandrem panchayat ground, on Tuesday.
The highlight of the semi-final was a brilliant hat-trick by Kunal Salgaonkar. Vishnu Pawar opened the account for Assonora United 1-0. Prajot Arabekar netted a brace.
Shaviz Pathan scored in the 70th minute for St Sebastain SC, consolation goal 1-6. The first goal scorer was awarded to Vishnu Pawar for Assonora United.
Earliert, FC Tuem stunned FC Siolim by 3-1 margin to enter the semi-final. FC Tuem went into the breather with a goal cushion being scored by Sergius Fernandes in the 27th minute of play with a neat placement, 1-0.
On crossing ends, FC Siolim equalised through Mayuresh Naik, 1-1.
FC Tuem pumped in two more goals through Durgesh Kinlekar in the 37th minute from Nehal Parab’s free-kick and in the 52nd minute Nehal Parab scored off a header to make it, 3-1. The first goal scorer was awarded to Sergius Fernandes of FC Tuem.
