PANJIM: The Mapusa Swimming Club retained the team championship at the 14th All India Suhasini R. Lotlikar Swimming competition organised by Stamina sports, at SAG swimming pool complex, Campal recently.
A total of 100 events for boys & girls in Juniors, Sub-Juniors & toddlers categories were held.
The meet saw swimmers from all over India fight it out for top honours. The competition was challenging and the several events witnessed close finishes. But some swimmers maintained their cool to win the individual championships in their respective categories.
In the individual championship, Sampreet Khanolkar won the first boys category while Shrungi Bandekar won the first girls category. Shoan Ganguly and Tanisha Murgod won their respective second categories. Smaran Mangalorekar won the third boys category while Sanjana Prabhugaonkar won the third girls category. Aryan Patil won the fourth boys category while Rijul Patil fourth girls category. Aditya Ghag won the fifth boys category while Gatha Jain won the fifth girls category.
Swimmers club, Belgaum finished runners-up in the team championship.
CCP Commissioner Ajit Roy was the chief guest and gave away the medals and certificates to the winners in the presence of CCP Corporator, Rahul Lotlikar and event coordinator Shweta Lotlikar.
