RAIA: Minguel’s hat-trick guided Marine Department edged past CME Department 4-2 in the final to clinch the Mormugao Port Authority Inter-Departmental 7-a-side tournament played at Deepvihar ground, Vasco, recently.
In the first half, Marine Department scored two goals in quick succession but the CME Department came strong in equalising both the goals in the first half with a score 2-2 in first half.
As the match progressed in the second session, Marine Department proved their supremacy by scoring two more goals through the efforts of Minguel with both superb passes from Nelson Landes, thereby completing his hat-trick.
Marine Department received the winners’ trophy from MPA Chairman Dr N Vinodkumar, IPoS, and Deputy Chairman Vinayaka Rao and all the heads of the departments.
