MAPUSA/RAIA: Vintage 73 SC, USC Seraulim and St Sebastian Youth Club Murida Fatorda notched important victories, while Siddeshwar SC and Eagles SC were forced to share points, in the GFA Third Division league matches played on Wednesday.
In the Bardez zone, at Siolim ground, Vintage 73 SC overcame ABC Arambol SC 2-0. Sanmesh Raul broke the deadlock in first-half stoppage time, and Gabriel Simoes doubled the tally soon after the restart to seal the win.
Meanwhile, at Assonora ground, Siddeshwar SC and Eagles SC played out a goalless draw, both sides cancelling each other out despite several half chances.
In Salcete zone fixtures, USC Seraulim claimed a 2-0 victory over St Rock’s Youth Club, Calata Majorda, at Dando ground, Benaulim. Alden Fernandes and Esley Travasso were on target for Seraulim.
At Raia panchayat ground, St Sebastian YC Murida Fatorda edged past Arlem Youth Association, 4-3. Frazer Miranda, Rahul Sharma, Zeno Noronha and Jaden Fernandes scored for Murida Fatorda, while Jeff Gauncar netted twice and Regan Vas added one for Arlem in a late surge that fell just short.
