Mustafizur Rahman joins Delhi Capitals as Fraser-McGurk’s replacement in IPL 2025

Delhi Capitals' IPL 2025 campaign has hit a rough patch. The team’s recent results haven’t gone their way, and in a bid to stay in the playoff race, Delhi has made a bold move. The franchise has signed Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman as a replacement for Jake Fraser-McGurk. Mustafizur makes a comeback to the DC camp after two years. The left-arm seamer replaces Fraser-McGurk, who will not be available for the remainder of the season.
Following the announcement of IPL 2025’s revised schedule, Delhi Capitals have made a strategic signing. With Fraser-McGurk unavailable for the rest of the season, the franchise has brought in Mustafizur Rahman to strengthen the squad. The Australian youngster Fraser-McGurk couldn’t make much of an impact this season, scoring only 55 runs in six matches. On the other hand, Delhi has been struggling lately, winning just one of their last five matches.

So far, Delhi Capitals have played 11 matches in IPL 2025. Under Axar Patel’s captaincy, they’ve won six and lost four, with one game likely affected by weather or other factors, giving them a total of 13 points. To secure a playoff spot, Delhi must win at least two of their remaining three matches. If they manage that, they’ll finish with 17 points, which should be enough to make the top four. Delhi started the season strongly with five consecutive wins, but their campaign has since gone off track.
