MAPUSA/RAIA: Nerul SC came from a goal down to defeat Sinquerim SC by 6-5 margin via tie-breaker to enter the quarter-finals of Peddem Bomm Cup played at Peddem ground, here, on Sunday. The teams were locked in a 1-1 draw at the end of the regulation time.
Sinquerim SC scored in the first half through Mahesh, but Nerul SC equalised in the second half through Vipin. Despite numerous opportunities, both teams failed to score further goals, leading to a tie-breaker. Nerul SC ultimately emerged victorious, winning the tie-breaker 5-4.
St Rock’s YC win
St Rock’s Youth Club defeated Carmona SC 2-0 to enter the quarter-finals of 33rd St Rock’s Super Soccer football tournament organised by St Rock’s Youth Club of Calata Majorda at Majorda ground, on Sunday.
St Rock’s YC opened the scoring in the very third minute of the match through Oscar Braganza. In the second session of play, Oswin Furtado scored the second goal for St Rock’s YC on a free-kick. Oscar Braganza was adjudged as the man-of-the-match.
Frazer sends Margao SC
in semi-finals
Margao Sports Club defeated hosts Arlem Youth Association 1-0 to enter into the semi-finals of 33rd Arlem Rolling Trophy organised by Arlem Youth Association at Raia panchayat ground, on Sunday. The all-important goal came from the boots of Margao Sports Club Frazer Miranda.
