India opener Yashasvi Jaiswal has requested the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) to allow him to continue playing for Mumbai in the upcoming domestic season. A month ago, Jaiswal had sought a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to switch to Goa, a move the MCA had promptly approved. However, in a recent letter, Jaiswal informed the MCA that his family’s plan to relocate to Goa has been cancecancelledrequested the withdrawal of his NOC, emphasizing that he never submitted it to the BCCI or the Goa Cricket Association.
Originally from Bhadohi, Uttar Pradesh, has made a name for himself representing India across formats. While a potential move to Goa was linked to an opportunity to captain the state side, recently promoted to the Elite Division, his packed international calendar would have limited his participation. The Goa Cricket Association had confirmed he would lead the team in the 2025–26 season. For now, Jaiswal has opted for loyalty to Mumbai, where his domestic journey began.

In Test cricket, he has played 19 matches, scoring 1,798 runs in 36 innings at an impressive average of 52.88 and a strike rate of 65.66, including 4 centuries and 10 half-centuries, with a highest score of an unbeaten 214. His ODI career is limited to a single appearance, in which he scored 15 runs.
In the shorter format, he has featured in 23 T20 Internationals, scoring 723 runs from 22 innings at an average of 36.15 and an exceptional strike rate of 164.31. In domestic First-Class cricket, he has played 36 matches and scored 3,712 runs in 66 innings, notching up 13 centuries and 12 half-centuries.
