PANJIM: The 11th edition of the Rotary Rain Run, Goa’s premier monsoon endurance event, will take place on July 27, starting from the SAG Athletics Stadium, Bambolim. Organised by the Rotary Charitable Trust of Porvorim in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Porvorim and the Rotary Parivar, the charity run is expected to attract over 2,500 participants, including children, senior citizens, and fitness enthusiasts from across India and abroad.

The run, known for combining athleticism with social impact, aims to raise awareness about women’s health and early detection of breast and cervical cancer, through the Prakash Cancer Aid Project.

At a press conference, the organisers unveiled the official jersey and medals for the event. Present were Avinash Singh Parmar (Chairman, Rotary Rain Run), Harsh Thakkar (President, Rotary Club of Porvorim), Shephan Shaikh (Coordinator, Rotary Rain Run), and Nikhil Shah (Chairman, Prakash Cancer Aid Project).

“This run is more than just a race – it's a movement for health and social change,” said Parmar.

The 2025 edition will feature several race categories: 21 km timed run (turnaround at Miramar Circle); 10 km timed run; 5 km Dream Run; 2 km Fun Walk; 2 km Seniority Walk (for senior citizens) and Fun Zone for children at the finish point.

Certified by World Athletics in cooperation with AIMS, the Rotary Rain Run continues to attract both seasoned international runners and amateurs alike.
