RAIA: Parish Youth Nuvem stormed into the Lourdes Festival Soccer final defeating Curtorim Gymkhana via tie-breaker 5-4 in all Goa inter-village football tournament organised by UC Utorda in memory of Nicholas Rodrigues at SAG ground, Utorda, on Monday.
PY Nuvem took the lead in the 12th minute through Maslem Barretto. The joy was short-lived as Curtorim Gymkhana equalised in the 23rd minute through the boots of Joywin Carneiro, who was outstanding.
At the lemon break, the teams were tied 1-1 draw.
In the second half, both teams exhibited a good game but failed to score.
In the tie-breaker, Nuvem held the upper hand.
Godfrey Mascarenhas, Joywin Costa, Jesus Rodrigues, Alvito Dias converted for PY Nuvem, while Joywin Carneiro, Rhay Dias and Ryan Fernande netted for Curtorim Gymkhana.
The man-of-the-match was awarded to Joywin Carneiro of Curtorim Gymkhana by chief guest Raymond Azavedo.
