Peddem Hockey Stadium to be named after legend Major Dhyan Chand

PANJIM:  On the occasion of the National Sports Day, Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant stated that the only hockey stadium in the State would be named after the Indian hockey legend, Major Dhyan Chand.

The Goa Chief Minister  tweeted, “Hockey Stadium in Peddem, will be named after India’s greatest sporting legend Major Dhyan Chand,” 

The CM stated that the Stadium would be renamed once it’s entirely completed. 

“This Stadium will be for the Goan and Indian youth.”

The hockey stadium at Peddem is the only Stadium in the State to have the astro turf and is yet to be opened for the sports enthusiasts. 

The National Sports Day is celebrated every year on August 29 to commemorate the birth anniversary of legend, Major Dhyan Chand.
