RAIA: Pidadigal Sports Club pipped Cumborda Sports Club 2-1 to be crowned champions in the 2nd Caniza Peixoto memorial football tournament organised by Black Arrow Boys Agxem Sports Club at the St Alex Church ground, Curtorim, recently.
Rywan Fernandes scored the first goal for Pidadigal FC, while Roy Fernandes found the equaliser for Cumborda SC. The winning goal came from the boots of Rywan in the second session to complete his brace.
Curtorim MLA and GIDC Chairman Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco was the chief guest and gave away the prizes in the presence of Curtorim Zilla Parishad member Michelle Rebelo, Carmel Chapel Chaplin Fr Milagres Fernandes, Tyson Caido, Ali Shaikh, Agnelo Gomes, Conny Peixoto, Mario Gomes and other dignitaries.
